NEW PURSE HIGHLIGHTS IMPRESSIVE LIST OF PLAYER-FOCUSED AMENITIES PROVIDING A WORLD-CLASS EXPERIENCE FOR ALL COMPETITORS IN THE FIELD

HOUSTON, Texas – Officials of The Chevron Championship announced today a purse increase for the LPGA Tour’s first major championship of the season. Beginning with this year’s Tournament, the purse for The Chevron Championship is now $9 million.

The Chevron Championship is being contested this week with competition rounds taking place April 23-26 at the City of Houston’s renowned Memorial Park Golf Course in Houston, Texas.

Overall, the purse for The Chevron Championship has increased by nearly $6 million since Chevron U.S.A. Inc. began its title sponsorship in 2022. The 2026 purse is $1 million more than just last year.

The 2026 winner of The Chevron Championship will receive $1,350,000.

In addition to The Chevron Championship’s new purse, the Tournament offers an impressive list of player focused amenities that provide a world-class experience for all competitors in the field.

The Chevron Championship has been a leader in offering a missed-cut stipend to every player in the field and is now one of 11 out of 33 total LPGA Tour events to provide this support. The Tournament provides an unsurpassed $10,000 stipend to help competing athletes cover their expenses for the week so that they can remain focused on their game and the competition without cost.

Additionally, all players competing in The Chevron Championship are provided with their own personal courtesy car compliments of Cadillac, the Tournament’s official vehicle sponsor.

Dining is also an elevated experience for athletes, along with their family, and caddies. Located on Hole No. 18 green with panoramic views of the Tournament’s closing hole, Player Family Dining at The Chevron Championship offers a front-row seat to history with a culinary menu to match. New this year, the Tournament is also offering a player-only dining option with food and beverage selections tailored to help fuel a professional athlete’s needs.

Past champions of The Chevron Championship competing in the field receive additional benefits, including a private Champions Locker Room with upgraded amenities and the option to drive a Bentley for the week. Moreover, champions are invited to complimentary lodgings during Tournament week at the Post Oak Hotel, the only Forbes Five-Star Hotel and Spa in Texas.

One of the most anticipated moments of the week is the annual Champions Dinner, where past winners of The Chevron Championship gather for this special event filled with comradery and a meal prepared by renowned chefs with the help of the previous year’s champion. This year, Michelin Star winning chef Thomas Keller prepared a meal created with the help of last year‘s winner Mao Saigo.

Each year, the culmination of The Chevron Championship is the presentation of the Dinah Shore trophy, one of the most iconic prizes in golf. While the Dinah Shore Trophy has remained the same since the Tournament became a major in 1983, the newest tradition of The Chevron Championship began in 2023 when the Tournament moved to Texas. Now in addition to the Dinah Trophy, the winner receives one of the most unique traditions in women’s golf, the presentation of custom western boots from Republic Boot Company. The champion personally designs her own boots with a pair to wear and a second pair enshrined in gold for display.

A portion of The Chevron Championship proceeds will benefit charities throughout the Houston community, where for more than 100 years Chevron has been a proud member. Tournament initiatives focus on areas such as STEM education, diversity and inclusion, youth development and women’s excellence, as well as health, wellness and community resilience. The Chevron Championship is one of the most generous tournaments on the LPGA Tour. Since 2022, the first year of Chevron’s title sponsorship of the event, Chevron, The Chevron Championship and its community partners have invested more than $12 million into the greater Houston area and beyond.

The Chevron Championship is the first of five majors on the 2026 LPGA Tour schedule that includes 33 total tournaments in 13 different countries and follows the Race to CME Globe, a season-long points competition used to qualify for the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship in Naples, Florida. The LPGA Tour majors carry 30% more points value, with the winner of each major receiving 650 Race to the CME Globe points versus the standard 500 points. The player who wins the CME Group Tour Championship will be named the “Race to the CME Globe Champion."

All four rounds of The Chevron Championship will be broadcast on network television, with Thursday’s and Friday’s opening rounds airing on Golf Channel and NBC hosting weekend broadcast coverage. LPGA Tour events annually reach television audiences in more than 220 countries across the globe.
