Big names join The Chevron Championship entry list as tournament draws near

Players have three more opportunities to earn a spot at the first major of the year

THE WOODLANDS, Texas (March 18, 2025) – As the LPGA Tour returns to the United States following its three-tournament swing through Southeast Asia, some of the biggest names in women’s golf have confirmed their place on the entry list for The Chevron Championship.

Prominent players on the Tour whose names are already on the entry list include defending champion Nelly Korda, 2024 Olympic gold medalist Lydia Ko, 2014 champion Lexi Thompson, The Woodlands native and 2011 champion Stacy Lewis, and 2023 champion Lilia Vu. In all, 22 of the top 25 players in the current Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings are on the preliminary entry list.

As the LPGA Tour’s first major, The Chevron Championship gets underway at The Club at Carlton Woods on Thurs., April 24, and over the course of four days many of the world’s best female golfers will compete for the opportunity to lift the Dinah Shore Trophy, take the traditional leap into the lake and earn the permanent title of “Major Champion.”

The Tour’s Asian Swing produced a trio of fantastic tournaments, with Angel Yin winning by one stroke in Thailand, Lydia Ko distancing herself from a strong field to win by four strokes in Singapore, and Rio Takeda winning by six strokes in China. Now, as the Tour returns to the United States, players have just three chances left to play their way into the field.

The clock is also ticking for golf fans to secure their tickets for The Chevron Championship. Daily Spectator Passes start at $40, while weekly admission for all four days of play starts at $200, but prices are set to increase on April 1. Juniors aged 17 and under receive complimentary admission with the purchase of an accompanying adult ticket.

Last week, Chevron announced a commitment to donate $5 for each purchase of a general admission Spectator Pass to support area public and charter school teachers through its Fuel Your School initiative. Chevron will donate the funds raised through ticket sales to DonorsChoose, a nationwide nonprofit organization that will use Chevron’s donations to fund classroom project requests from eligible schools in The Woodlands, Montgomery and Spring, Texas.

Since 2010, Chevron has collaborated with DonorsChoose to support over 42,000 teachers in the communities where it operates, bringing over $60 million of resources to those communities.

Daily and weekly Spectator Passes include access to tournament grounds, various open seating options across the course and food and beverage options available for purchase at concessions stands.

Guests seeking an elevated tournament experience can enjoy an all-inclusive experience, premium views and enhanced amenities at the St. Luke’s Health Pavilion. A portion of the proceeds from St. Luke’s Health Pavilion tickets will benefit a local charity.

Players who have yet to secure a spot in The Chevron Championship field still have three opportunities to play their way into the entries with a win or by playing consistently well enough to move up the Race to the CME Globe standings going into The Chevron Championship.
