In 2023, American Lilia Vu won The Chevron Championship for the first major title of her LPGA Tour career. After a historic career at UCLA where she became the No. 1 amateur in the world, the California native struggled the first year she turned professional, nearly stepping away from golf altogether in 2020. Through determination and hard work, Vu resurrected her career and found the LPGA Tour winner’s circle four times in 2023, rising to No. 1 in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings. She looks at her 2023 Chevron Championship victory as one of the key moments that cemented her success.

“Winning The Chevron Championship, my first major victory, was a dream come true,” said Vu. “When I look back on my career, I will always remember that week at Carlton Woods as one of the most special of my life.”

Vu is expected to defend her title at Carlton Woods come April, playing alongside past Chevron champions Lydia Ko (2016), Jennifer Kupcho (2022), Stacy Lewis (2011), Brittany Lincicome (2009, 2015), Pernilla Lindberg (2018) and Patty Tavatanakit (2021). Other notable players who have committed to the major include 2020 Olympic gold medalist Nelly Korda and Vu’s fellow 2023 major champions Celine Boutier, Allisen Corpuz and Ruoning Yin.
